Zoomtown at the ISM Raceway (Formerly Phoenix International Raceway/PIR) is one of the Phoenix Valley’s Newest Light Shows this 2018 Holiday Season.
With over 3 million LED Lights, you’ll find that you get to go under the seating at the ISM raceway and into the MIDDLE of the NASCAR racetrack.
I mean, that in itself is pretty awesome.
At first, I thought my minivan was going to actually travel ON the racetrack, but since I had never been to an actual NASCAR event, I didn’t realize how tilted the roadway actually is. I think our poor minivan couldn’t handle the tilt. But, still, it was amazing to be IN THE MIDDLE OF THE RACETRACK.
OK, enough of my excited text yelling. It was really awesome.
But first, you drive up to the gate and pay. There are lines to queue up in, but you can also purchase a fastpass online to bypass the lines. Weekdays will be much quicker than weekends. Price is gauged by size of car, not on how many people. There were a few port-o-potties but I believe they were for the workers, so use your facilities before you leave home. There isn’t a lot of things near the raceway either, so make sure you use the facilities before you leave home or before you go south of i10.
In this light show you also drive up and around the entire stadium as well. So some parts are in the middle of the stadium and some around on the outside. It was cool to see it from a different perspective than you would get if you were going for a race.
Driving underneath the stadium seating!
Very patriotic displays of AMERICA as we drove around the outside of the stadium! The road was a bit windy here and narrow.
This video was as we entered onto the middle of the racetrack!
I won’t show all the pictures I took of the light displays, but this was a very soothing light show. There is a music station you can tune to, and some of the light displays do move with the music but most do not. The light displays are very spread out, so if you have a child that might get overwhelmed by too much music or movement this is a great light show. Or, if you have a person who just wants to check out the inside of what the NASCAR stadium looks like, also a really cool experience to do too! I think this was a great mix of simplicity, beauty and technology without it being overwhelming! I really loved all the displays and how large it was!
Zoomtown currently is running until December 31st!
