Windrose Park-Peoria

I had passed this park so many times, and finally decided last week was the time we were going to check it out. The park is on the Corner of Windrose and 83rd Avenue in Peoria, which is very close to Sky Zone.

This Park had a little bit for everyone. Nicely shaded for the relief from the sun.

Lots of green space to run and play (but be careful, there is no fence with the park and 83rd, which is slightly busier than Windrose to the north. The playground is a good distance from the road).

Ramadas are very important for birthday parties or for tired moms and dads. One laIMG_9723dy I met at the park even said she had hosted many great birthday parties at this park.

Three different slides, multiple places and ways to climb, and monkey bars for the best of your climbers.

IMG_9731Small kiddie slides with stairs for the little guys. Just beware that the slide edge and the rubber gummy stuff ends to the left of the slide. For those kiddos with uneven footing, it can be a little scary for us moms. You can also tell from this picture that there is lots of sand at this park. My kids wished I brought the sand shovels, so remember to bring them. It’s great digging sand!

Two big kidIMG_9736 swings and two baby swing were available. I’m not much of a swing fan, unless my kids are pumping. Giggles was able to figure it out a little. So proud!

There is also a basketball and tennis court available if you have older children!

And one of my favorite features is the bathroom. For those of us who drink a lot of water or have kids who are potty training, this feature is a must!

This park is such a nice, quite park with off street parking. It has a good neighborhood feel and there were a few people who came by on a weekday with their kids too, so it was great for my kids. Munchie and Giggles gave this park a two thumbs up. Dimples, 2, also enjoyed the park and was able to get around pretty well. If you have younger children who aren’t so mobile, I would really suggest bringing some sand buckets to keep them occupied as well!
