2018 Update for The Play Factory in Desert Ridge
As of December 2018, The Play Factory reported on their Facebook page that they are closed due to electrical issues and hope to reopen in early 2019.
I’m so excited to be able to share with you the updates that the new management and owners have done at The Play Factory in Desert Ridge. Many new facelifts for the facility and it is really ready to go. Many of the things you will see in the old post are no longer there. And, even the staff is excited for the changes!
The Play Factory accessibility is easiest by parking at the far end of the lot from Target. That’s usually where we park and then walk through. Barnes and Noble is right near that entrance along with the little outdoor play area. Desert Ridge has also included more green turf (fake) along the walkways throughout the shopping area.
Inside the Party area and floor was very similar, but two selfie stations were added with props.
The food area was neatened up and streamlined with new signage and a cleaner, fresher view!
The Red couches are gone but there is still seating available! Many of the games have been replaced for newer ones (like an air hockey table).
And, the toddler area-completely redone! YAY!
There were toys galore, bookshelves high up with things to play with and really a better area for babies!
And the climber!! Totally new and different!
The climber was completely replaced with a new one! YAY! It is a smaller climber than the older one, but has tons of great features and is new and clean!
Lots of fun adventures to be had for the kids!
If you want to take a look at what you can find inside the new climber, my oldest “Munchie” took my phone and took some creative shots. There was lots to climb in and around and he had a blast with his brother and sister going through the obstacles. A bit tight for me to wiggle through, but I have an expert climber. It got a thumbs up!
The Play Factory also had a new jump house in the corner as well!
A great area for littles even if they are watching their big siblings in the main room!
There were lots of great new features at The Play Factory and will definitely be a great spot to go with your kids! If you haven’t been in a while, I highly suggest checking it out. The owners will also be hosting special events, so you will want to stay tuned on our Facebook, Twitter and IG pages for details!
We checked out the Play Factory (It’s under new ownership!) and had a blast! The new owners have done a great job making this place fun for the little and bigger kids. It’s conveniently located in Desert Ridge Marketplace in North Phoenix. In Desert Ridge there is also a splashpad that you can check out, a movie theater, and lots of shopping and restaurants as well. If you are looking for a little “day getaway”, you should consider Desert Ridge.
The new owners have done a lot of work getting the Play Factory better than ever. They have different deals for passes that can all be done digitally on your phone (no need to carry around another punch card!) and you can get on their text message list so that you know if they have open play availability on the weekends or if they will be closed for private parties. I loved how they are incorporating technology for the enjoyment (and ease) of parents. Plus, you can use their wifi to work while the kids play. A work from home parents dream!
Here you can see their snack/meal area and a little bit of their toddler area. Remember to wear your socks- as these areas are sock only!
There is a toddler sized jumping area, some couches for moms and dads to sit, some books and some other items to play with. Great for a toddler that has bigger siblings that might need a little quieter area.
There are also some video games (my kids liked the race car stuff), for a good cool down time after a hard romp in the play area.
The big climbing structure! My kids loved climbing up and and down and all around. The “second floor” even had swings to sit on and bounce around. There’s also a super fast slide that my kids loved going down.
Munchie was trying to come help rescue Dimples. Dimples, almost two, wasn’t so sure of this because of the holes in the webbing. But, my three and 5 1/2 year old had no problem.
Hard to take a good picture of this, but this is a very tall inflatable slide. Dimples, two, had no problem climbing up this and sliding down. My other kids loved it as well.
And there was a very, very tall rock wall-I would think about 20′ tall. Munchie got about 1/3 of the way up, and he is a little monkey. Giggles, 3, didn’t fare so well, but it was a lot of fun. You are attached to a harness and a bungee cord for safety. And, adults can do it too!
We had a great time revisiting the Play Factory and were able to talk with the owners for a bit. They are parents too and know what it’s like to bring kids to a play place-and they have high expectations for themselves, and will continue to grow and develop the Play Factory. I highly suggest you check them out and get on their text list for your convenience! They are also having Family Fun Playnights on Fridays and Saturday’s from 7pm-10pm so that everyone can enjoy the fun.
