Surprise Community Park

New in 2020, there are some great new shade canopies!

It had been a while since we had gone to the Surprise Park on Bullard Avenue, but my husband and I decided to walk with the children from our house to check it out this past weekend. It’s a lovely walk, and we really appreciate the city’s wide sidewalks where we can walk side by side while pushing the strollers.

I love seeing that people have birthday parties at the park! What a nice, easy place to have a party plus it has bathrooms available (though no changing tables)! There are a few ramadas and lots of shade from trees and canopies.

And now, 2020, there are Shade canopies!

Although there is a LOT more than just the playground (which is what I am focusing this post on), that is all I have pictures of in this post. There is also the fishing pond and Dog Park-including a section for big dogs and one for small. The library is also easily accessible by foot, as well as the tennis courts, pool, beach volleyball courts, tennis courts and the baseball stadiums! Phew…that is a LOT of stuff!

I was pleasantly surprised that there were a few replacements at the playground.

I love this “musical keyboard”. The kids love banging on it as well. This has been fixed since the last time we came so it was all working!

This was a new climbing thing that Munchie and Giggles were on. Excuse Miss Giggle’s behind!

A telescope is always fun!

I thought I got a picture of the new sit and Spin thing at the park, which multiple kids can climb onto and have someone spin. Looks a little bit scary for the younger ones (under four) but the big kids loved it.

Also, the new shades over the swings! YAY!

[…] One of my favorite things about this park is that not only are there two different play grounds, there is also a splash pad, baseball fields and a bathroom! My husband went into the bathroom with my oldest Munchie and he said that it was a basic bathroom, very simliar to the one at Surprise Community Park on Bullard. […]
