Stonebrook Park Surprise

I’ll be honest with you. When we first started up the blog we drove to Stonebrook Park

..and kept on going. The park was way too old for my wee ones at the time, and it was in horrible condition. There was also no shade!

Stonebrook Park is located at 14431 W Ely Drive in Surprise, in the Stonebrook neighborhood (Parkview Place and Southwest of Grand)

I hesitantly decided that we would check out this park again. And I was pleasantly surprised!

That is a nicely updated park!!

There is a great grassy area with big pine trees and a few metal picnic benches, but not that much shade. Also, parking is on the street (parallel parking). It is not a busy street, but be careful with wee ones.

I personally love the mix of palm and pine trees.  You can see the great grassy area. And yes, there are houses all around!

These two slides were about as toddler friendly as this playground gets, other than the big grassy area and mulch. I would recommend this park for kiddos 3+ (even though the sign says 5+).

A little daredevil who wants to go down these separated steps.

My kids love this challenging climber! Now that they are steadier walkers and climbers I encourage them!

This climber also wiggles back and forth. So, really be careful with your wee ones who are unsteady. The handrails are not all that helpful!

There’s also one other slide, the “speakerphones ” (my kids holler and yell and scream, so the speaker phones don’t keep anything a secret), and a few cute bridges for the kids to cross.

Then there was an online game (pictured on the sign). On the sign it said to look up “Playbiba” on app store or Google Play, but I found the app under Biba Play or something different. It took a while for it to download, even though I had good cell phone service. I really had no idea what was going on with the app, other than I was now staring at my phone, wasting my battery and not playing with my kids.

You can find out more about “Play Biba” by clicking.  It is an app that is supposed to make running around more enticing for kids and by looking in the phone, you will see things appear before your eyes. It is similar in idea to pokemon go but with more movement. The goal is to get kids and parents moving more.

Otherwise, I thought this park was a great surprise and lovely for the kids to play on a “winter day!’

Great story and photos on StoneBrook Park. The hidden story of an area in Surprise that is not an HOA. The property’s are well maintained by homeowners.
