If you thought we stayed only in the west valley, you were so wrong!! We love trying out new play places. and this one in the Paradise Valley mall is a must see.
Ready, Set, Play was thought up by a mom and dad of a 1 and 3 year old who needed a place for their kids to play. And, they know what kids like!
We got there early, as usual. Luckily we did because I didn’t park anywhere near where Ready, Set, Play was. Don’t be like me!! Don’t walk the entire mall unless you want a lot of exercise with three young children. The best spot to park is near Dillards. There is also a coffee shop across the way from Ready, Set, Play, and the coffee was…well it wasn’t Starbucks. It suited me just fine, and I picked up a couple snacks for the kids too.
In the picture above, you can see little Dimples looking into the ball pit through the window. This was his favorite place to hang out. I had to pull him out of the ball pit when we were about to go!
Right inside the door we took our shoes off, and that is where you also check in and pay (this is not part of the mall’s free playing area-and it’s worth every cent!) . There are toys galore, space to run, bounce and play and the place is so very clean. The manager took every opportunity to interact with the customers and clean up when there wasn’t someone at the front desk. The staff was excellent! There were cars, scooters and all types of vehicles.
A huge bounce house that even had a little slide in it. All of my kids loved playing in there, but I had to keep chasing them to make sure they didn’t bring toys in it! You can see a great couch right in front of the house, and there was seating throughout the area for parents. For lucky parents who didn’t have to chase their kids making sure they didn’t bring toys in the jump house!
The kitchen playsets were a huge hit too. The kids love dramatic play (and playing with toys that aren’t theirs!)
All the cleaning equipment made my kids want to clean-if only we could bring this passion home with them. And oops, there went Dimples in with his shoes on. No shoes, buddy! Bring your socks or they have some for sale if you live in flip flops like me. There were also a few slow drive battery operated cars to hop in.
There are also two great toddler/baby areas nearest to the benches that you can eat at (and bring your own food! They also sell drinks!)
I think this was what really blew me away-the parental thought that went into the video screen above the seating area. There is a “blind spot” that you can’t see when you are in the seated area, but this video screen allows you to see! So if you have multiple kids that are in different places or you just want to finally sit down for a break, you can see the whole space from one place!
The seating area was simple and efficient! You can bring your own food or purchase some drinks! The restroom also had a great changing area and a potty seat for those kiddos who may be potty training.
If you are in the “Party mood” for a kids party they have a great set up and can do a number of themes. This space looked really inviting, and they do all the clean up!
There were also toys for those who liked a little more subtle play. The train table is always a favorite of Dimples, and wall of bins of toys had trucks, blocks and so much more. Throughout the room there were tons of different options for kids to play with, pick up, explore and enjoy. And, on top of the wall of toys, they had a bin for toys that were chewed on.
This place is going to be a great spot for families to come and let their little ones play. There is nothing better than playing with someone elses’ toys. And for moms, there’s nothing better than happy children and someone elses’ toys and a chance to hang out with some mom friends while your kids play! Ready, Set, Play is definitely going to be on our go to list for hot summer days!
My kids had such a blast that when we got home, this is what they looked like when we got home! Oh, and if your kids need a nap but you want to go back the same day-you can! Your admission lasts all day! Go play, then shop and eat, take a nap, and come back!
