Palo Verde Park Peoria

If you haven’t guessed,  I LOVE going to different parks with my kids. My younger two, now aged 4 and 5 can pretty much do everything at the parks so those days when I was looking for the baby swings and a toddler friendly area aren’t my main priorities. However, I know that my readers have kids of all ages, so I’m always on the look out for what is age appropriate for all ages. If you are looking for Toddler Friendly Locations, I highly recommend you check out our post here.

Palo Verde Park is also a historical ruin as well as playscape area! It is located in the Terramar Community in Peoria.

Two beautiful playgrounds are separated. This was the big kids one with a side climbing area, nice dramatic play, small rock wall and slides. And, SHADED!

Bathrooms available and the back part of the playgrounds!

Toddler area.

Benches under a roof and the toddler playground. There could have been a little more mulch down to make it easier for the kiddos to go on this one. The slides were a little high up. I think this would be a better playground for your 2+ or very steady walker.

Two baby swings next to the toddler playground. They are under the shade at some points (depending on the sun!)

Two big kid swings are next to the big kids area and greenspace. I loved that it was shaded too-depending on the sun!

There was also a small lit basketball court. And a beautiful view of the mountains. It looked like they city was working on some trails to the back of the park, so some of it was fenced off.

What’s even neater about this park is that there are some historical significance to the Hohokam ! There was a ball court that was rocked out for us to see and some information!

Information about the area and the pit!

A really cool park with history! Yes please! And hopefully some trails to hike in the future as well! You can find out more from the City of Peoria’s website.

This park is an amazing park to play at and enjoy in north Peoria! Great for homeschooling families who may not want to take a trip to Pueblo Grande Museum or just want to do more exploring!
