Digital frames have been around for years. I remember having a digital frame when I had my first digital camera and it was amazing. I had a memory stick I would put into the digital frame and voila, all my pictures would go onto the digital frame.
With the Nixplay iris, there is no need for a memory stick or plugging your frame into a computer! Everything is done effortlessly through wifi and you can send pictures from s computer or an app@
I personally liked that I could set up different types of playlists of photos. I can have different types of playlists for different types of events. Holiday playlists showing cute pictures of Christmases past, Birthday parties of the past and other fun whimsical playlists are all available!
The other really wonderful thing, that is really different than any other digital frame option out on the market is the friend’s option. I can accept other people’s playlists/photo lists to play on my device My friends can add pictures to a particular playlist on my device as well. This is a great option for families and friends that live far away and might not get the updates on Facebook or Social Media!
The Nixplay Iris App
I did notice that the app does not allow me to log in to as many features as the website. I do suggest that you turn on the “auto update” feature for the app because Nixplay will be adding in some amazing new features! If I want to pair the Nixplay Iris with social media, I need to login to your computer to set that up. From the computer, I can find the social media accounts, and I can add pictures to
When I was on my computer, it is very easy to drag and drop the photos and create a
I also particularly like that the Nixplay can be controlled from the app. With the App, the user can turn the Nixplay Iris on or off. Each account is allowed five different Nixplay devices, so the user can control five different frames. From within the app the user can also control the volume, how long each photo is displayed for, a sleep schedule, activity sensor (turns on if there it senses noise), if there is a clock displayed and how bright it is.
The Nixplay Iris also comes with a remote with many different options. The user can select playlists, turn the frame on and off, change the picture, pause the picture and go to the settings. I personally liked using my phone and the app better than the remote, but it depends on the user. We are using the frame in landscape instead of vertical as well, but the user can set the frame either way.
The Nixplay Iris is Great as a Gift
This is a great present for a family member that is far away, digitally inclined and likes a new toy. This is also great for Mothers’ Day and Fathers’ Day Gifts as well! I really love this version of the Nixplay and how easy it is to control from the computer and app. My kids LOVE watching their pictures stream across the frame too and talk about their memories from when the pictures were taken.
