Goodyear Community Park

My family and I had passed the Goodyear Community Park many times on our way to Babies/Toys R Us in Goodyear and finally we had the opportunity to check out the park! We went right after a rain storm so there were a few puddles and trees down, but what a beautiful park! Right off of Litchfield Rd, its easily and convenient to get to from Surprise!

There is a Fire Station right by the park, so there is even a possibility of seeing fire trucks taking off (but I should warn you, cover your ears if they do go!).

One of my favorite things about this park is that not only are there two different play grounds, there is also a splash pad, baseball fields and a bathroom! My husband went into the bathroom with my oldest Munchie and he said that it was a basic bathroom, very simliar to the one at Surprise Community Park on Bullard.

Both Playgrounds also have shades over a good portion of them, which always makes the kids who are trying to use the slides happy!

The playgrounds both had a lot of tactile elements to them as well.

IMG_4467There was also a nice swing area, and Munchie was his usual Gentlemanly self and pushed a girl on the swings.

IMG_4461The Splash pad was very nice, with a bucket drop as well as water guns. It is open until the Third Monday in October!

The Splash Pad looked so inviting, but I didn’t bring our bathing suits or towels because I wasn’t sure it would still be open.

There was a second set of swings towards the “East” playground and a climbing “rock” wall.

The “East” playground had lots of different slides and was a bit higher for the bigger kids, but even Giggles did well on this one.

The park has a lot of amenities and is spread out and may be difficult with multiple little “runners” but my kids did not want to leave. Luckily I had the hubby with me so we could divide and conquer, but the kids had a blast. I was truly excited about this park and can’t wait to visit it again!
