Here is our 4th of July Announcement and Statement.
We were excited to host the Hometown 4th at Schnepf Farms as we have been doing for off and on for
nearly 80 years.
We love this holiday and everything it stands for. But these last several months have been difficult for nearly everyone. Sometimes it feels like it’s too much to handle.
Because of this crazy time, we are doing something different. First, we are cancelling the Hometown 4th celebration at the farm with food trucks, music, vendors etc., so no need to drive to
the farm. Second, we are NOT cancelling the fireworks! Thanks to the continued partnership with the Town of Queen Creek, the fireworks show is happening. We are going to shoot off larger shells that go much higher so you can stay home with your families and friends and BBQ, laugh, talk and enjoy an incredible fireworks show. We hope you also really think about what this holiday and this country means to you and your family.
All of you who have purchased tickets will be issued a refund.
We would like to share some thoughts with you in regards to this 4th of July. It doesn’t matter what color we are, what gender, what religion, what political party, what sexual orientation, what matters is, we are all AMERICANS! We need to stand as AMERICANS and treat each other with tolerance and respect. It is OK to have different opinions and viewpoints. This country is not perfect and neither are it’s people. But it was founded on the principles of
life, liberty, and the pursuit of individual happiness. These are important ideals to work for and strive for in a positive way. There is far too much hate, anger, blame, cruelty, dishonesty, and intolerance and it is tearing this country apart.
While you are at home watching the skies light up, we hope you take this time to reflect on the positives, to appreciate the good, to forgive those that have angered us, to respect those with different viewpoints, to honor those who have given their time and lives in defense of our freedoms and to appreciate those who serve here at home. We hope each of you will think
about what it means to you to be an American. We are free to speak and debate our opinions, free to worship or not worship as we please, free to choose and utilize our talents to accomplish things, things some people only dream about.
We can’t take our freedoms, liberties and rights for granted, we need to protect them.
This year while we won’t gather on the farm, the fireworks will shoot off at approx 9pm. This is
a way to celebrate all that is good about our amazing country. We are all Americans. With all the negativity on Social Media, this week we encourage you to post something positive about
the United States of America.
Please remember, do not drive to the farm to watch the fireworks. We will be closed and there
will be no parking on the road shoulders.
Thank you. Have a safe and happy 4th

Fourth Of July Freedom Fest Safety Information
The Fairmont Scottsdale Princess continues its 10 year tradition of Freedom Fest for July 4th while complying with Governor Ducey’s June 29th Executive Order.
This afternoon, Governor Ducey issued an executive order closing some businesses and adding additional restrictions to gatherings, specifically limited public outdoor gatherings to no more than 50 people and limiting the number of people per party at public pools and dining establishments to ten or fewer.
The 10th Annual Freedom Fest at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess will be taking place July 2 through the 4. Resort leadership has carefully reviewed the order to reimagine the event to ensure compliance. Freedom Fest is a private event, limited to in-house guests only; here is how the resort is complying with the new order:
*Capacities – the resort has limited the capacity of guestrooms available and occupancy of restaurants and pools to ensure physical distancing is adhered to. Dining parties will be limited to ten or fewer per table to adhere with all orders.
*Physical distancing – the resort, which is situated on 65 acres, is painting eight foot circles spread six feet apart to clearly and easily allow guests to physically distance on the resort’s lawns while enjoying fireworks and movies. Parties in each clearly marked circle will be limited to six or fewer, enforced by the resort.
*Face coverings – the resort will comply with the City of Scottsdale’s emergency order requiring the wearing of face coverings while in public, when physical distancing is not able to be reasonably practiced. Additionally, all resort staff is, and has been, required to wear face coverings while at work.
*Pools – the resort’s pools will remain open at a controlled capacity, and will comply with CDC, state and local mandates. There will be increased security on the resort’s pool decks to enforce physical distancing and the resort will limit all groups congregated together to ten or fewer people. The resort’s dive in movies will continue to operate as planned, with increased security to enforce distancing.
*To ensure compliance with Gov. Ducey’s executive order, the Plaza Bar, a dining and bar concept, is transitioning their two bars to beverage pickup only and has removed all bar counter seating to eliminate congregation. The venue will continue to offer food and beverage service at individual tables for groups of ten or fewer.
*Drive in movies at the Princess – the resort will continue with the drive in movies as scheduled on July 2, 3 and 4 at 8 pm. Additional security will be on hand to ensure all regulations are adhered to and car will be positioned for physical distancing. Advance ticket purchase required.
*Fireworks – the resort’s fireworks display will continue as scheduled on July 2, 3 and 4. Physical distancing will be enforced on property. On-site viewing of fireworks is limited to in-house guests.
*Airshow – the annual air show will continue as scheduled on July 4 at 4:45pm. On-site viewing will limited to in-house guests.
*Effective 2 pm, Thursday, July 2 through 6 pm, Sunday, July 5 resort access will be restricted to guests with reservations. We respect the trust you place in us each time you choose to stay with us. We believe that trust is earned. The resort is open at this time to serve our guests and community, and we are taking every precaution to remain a safe space for all who visit. Following all protocols set by global, national and local health authorities, we have heightened our already rigorous cleaning and disinfection procedures, and introduced supplemental preventative measures as advised by an international team of experts in hygiene and safety. Learn more about our ‘Stay Well’ initiative here. Our hotel has also adopted more flexible conditions to help our guests shift their travel plans as needed.
We appreciate, value and thank you for your continued support of the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess.
