When I was young, batteries were in toys, sure! They were mostly “c” and “d” batteries, and each toy needed at least four. And there was just a little clip that held the cover in. Did I swallow a battery? Did I ever think about it? Nope.
Now it requires surgery to replace the batteries. I have at least 6 different screwdrivers to take the battery cover off. I had to go to Home Depot to get a special small screwdriver . I have also resorted to using the screwdriver that fixes my glasses (which I proceeded to leave in my kids bedroom. ). And of course, when do you have to replace critical batteries? (Such as the swing, mobile, etc) in the middle of the night, of course.
So, as I took the batteries out of the swing and put them in the garbage, I thought, really?! All these safety precautions when I just throw these batteries in an open top garbage can?! What kind of insanity is that?!
