Bumper Boats at OdySea

Giggles and I had a day of fun, and one of our places we stopped was the new Bumper Boats at OdySea (9500 East Via de Ventura in Scottsdale). I had purchased a Groupon for the Bumper Boats months ago, and the Groupon expired…the day before we arrived. However, the staff was super accommodating and gave me the Groupon deal anyhow! Yay for being kind.

Since we were there during the middle of a Friday, it was not very busy. It was just Giggles and I, so Giggles got two rides for the day. The Bumper Boats are not good for parents unfortunately. The boats sit in about 18″ of water that is cleaned daily!

Check in was easy. Since Giggles was over 47″, she got to ride in the “bigger” boat. All boats seat 1 person, 3 is the minimum age. 120lbs and 66″ is the maximum weight, so I guess some adults could ride it!

Check in was easy, but as with all the Groupons-you will have to pay the tax.

There was a waiting area with benches and a small platform for kids to walk up-and the staff member assisted.

There were quite a few boats in the water, but I’m sure they had more in the back. The space was about 30′ by 30′ I would guess, and about 18″ deep. The staff member was wearing waders as not to get all wrinkly. The staff was really sweet and even played along with Giggles in the water.

Each boat goes three minutes and it is turned on by a magnetic wand that the staff member carries. It automatically turns off. The child is able to steer (in circles, or whatever direction they choose).

Giggles had a blast with the Bumper Boats at OdySea, but had to save a few turns for when we bring her brothers back. It will definitely be a hot spot for kids this summer!

And, if you are waiting for your children to take endless turns on the bumper boats, there is a lovely waiting area. The waiting space was really large. Large enough that I wonder if they will put in another boat area!
