I often have people ask me “Where is a good park for…?”
I have to say, in the Phoenix area we are SO lucky to have so many amazing parks in each of our cities! And, there are parks in our neighborhoods as well, which makes this area so fun for kids.
I picked Four parks to highlight that are in the West Valley:
- Palo Verde Park-Peoria- Not only does this park have an amazing playground for big and little tykes, it also has historical ruins! So, you can make this park part of your history lesson while your kids play. With a separate toddler area that is also shaded, this park is a great destination in the Terramar section of North Peoria!
2. Apache Park in Peoria-Also has separated toddler and big kid areas, plus a TON of things to climb. Your older 10-12 year olds might even like this park! Plus, it has plenty of green space, sidewalks for little ones to go around the park on bikes and scooters, tennis courts and a basketball court. This park is conveniently located north of Bell near the Arrowhead Mall.
3. Estrella Vista Park South-This amazing park is located south of I-10 in Goodyear. There are two parks in the close area, however neither have bathrooms. However, don’t let that dissuade you from check out these amazing parks with great shade, natural beauty and views and lots to climb for the little ones. For the bigger ones, Estrella Vista Park South has plenty of greenspace plus basketball courts!
4. Kiwanis Park-Peoria-This park is an all time favorite of many friends. The first thing-it has a zipline for kids. And adults can ride it too! There are plenty of places to climb and enjoy, plus it is shaded, has a bathroom, greenspace, tennis courts and separate tot and big kid area!
