52 Things to do in 2020

It’s a whole new year! Are you ready?

But, is it a beginning of a decade? Well, it is the beginning of the roaring 20s! 🙂

We are putting together 52 places (one a week) for you to check out with your family this year!

  1. Start your year off with exercise at Great Skate in Glendale!
  2. Enjoy some outdoor fun with a trip up to Bearizona! See Bears, Buffalo, deer and maybe even some snow up in Williams, AZ.
  3. Check out a new local park, like Festival Fields Park in Avondale. Bring Fido to the dog park too!
  4. Head to the East Valley to the Eastmark Great Park. It really is great with all of the huge climbing areas, pond and more!
  5. Take a hike at Usery Park in Mesa. With city and desert views, you’ll be able to catch some amazing sights!
  6. Grab a bite at Uptown Alley and go bowling with the family!
  7. Walk up Verrado Victory Stairs and see beautiful views of the west valley!
  1. Check out Asante Park in Surprise! This beautiful park has baseball fields, playgrounds, basketball courts, a fitness course and more!
  2. Go see a show at Medieval Times in Scottsdale!
  3. Find a hole in a rock at step through it at Papago Park in Phoenix.

  1. Get ready for the baseball and softball season by getting a few pitches and hits at D-Bat Avondale
  2. Ready for a spring break staycation? Check out Great Wolf Lodge in Scottsdale for indoor fun in a temperature controlled environment!
  3. Estrella Mountain Regional Park has tons of great trails, and programs too!
  4. Walk the grounds of the Farm at South Mountain and check out some yummy local produce and have brunch or lunch too!
  5. Feel like a kid again with your kids at Main Event! Play some arcade games, bowl, climb ropes, and play laser tag in Avondale.

  1. Check out the zipline at Kiwanis Park in Peoria.
  2. See some live burros at Alamo Lake State Park in Wenden, Arizona.
  3. Take a cruise on Lake Pleasant and learn about the history of the man made lake.
  4. Get cooled off by the splashpad at Pioneer Park in Peoria.

  1. Get a huge bucket of water dumped on you in Queen Creek at the Founder’s Park Splashpad!
  2. Play it cool at the Children’s Museum of Phoenix when it is really hot outside!
  3. Enjoy a storytime or a read a book from the Sam Garcia Library in Avondale.
  4. Catch a Diamondbacks Baseball game at Chase Field in Phoenix.

  1. Grab a bite to eat, a sip of coffee or a movie and enjoy the splashpad at Park West in Peoria.
  2. Take your little one to Teenytown Playland for crafts, storytime and imaginative play.
  3. Enjoy some art classes, mix paint, or test your skills at one of the many classes at Art with Me AZ.
  4. Catch a fireworks show for the Fourth of July!
  5. Get out all that bundled up energy the kids have at Rush Fun Park in Peoria!
  1. Get your splash on at Tempe’s Big Surf, the oldest wave park in the nation.
  2. Speaking of Tempe, have you heard about the Cloud in Tempe? This splashpad not only has water, but it also has Sound!
  3. Hollyhock Pool in Surprise may be the smaller pool in town, but it has a wonderful slide and is a perfect retreat from the hot summer sun.
  4. The kids need to burn out that energy and fly in the clouds? Check out Urban Air in Ahwatukee or Goodyear. They can soar on trampolines or the zip line, as well as tons of other activities too!
  5. Get your glasses on and learn a bit at the Arizona Science Center in Phoenix. Traveling exhibits make the Science Center a great date night location too!
  6. Giggles in Chandler is a great place to take toddlers and preschoolers, and meet up with other moms while big kids are in school.
  7. Take a walk on the wild side at Wildlife World Zoo in Litchfield Park.
  8. Uptown Jungle has indoor play areas for Tots and Big kids. During the school year, Uptown Jungle allows tots to run the place during the mornings at Uptown Tot. Locations are Chandler, Avondale, Peoria and Mesa.

  1. Looking for a theatrical event appropriate for your little ones? Check out the Great Arizona Puppet Theater.
  2. Take a look at the ocean life right here in the desert at SeaLife Arizona at the Arizona Mills Mall in Tempe.
  3. Legoland Discovery Center is right next to SeaLife Arizona, and is great for the master builders in your family. Enjoy playing and building with Lego bricks and even some rides and 4D movies!
  4. Fall is here! It’s time to enjoy the fall with a trip to some of our favorite fall places like MacDonald’s Ranch in Scottsdale.
  5. Another great fall activity for families is Rocker 7 Farm Patch in Buckeye!
  6. Tolmachoff Farms offers tons of field trips and is wonderful for preschoolers and elementary school kids!

  1. Head north to Mortimer Farms to feel a bit cooler and enjoy their patches and festival and farm store.
  2. Vertuccio Farms in Mesa has a lot of enjoyable fun for the family, with bounce pillows, animals and lots of fun for the whole family.
  3. Wondering about some Wonderful butterflies? See hundreds of different species at Butterfly Wonderland in Scottsdale.
  4. Dust Devil Park in Glendale has huge playgrounds, splashpad is right next to the community center.
  5. Enjoy rocking and rolling, sliding and playing at Loma Linda Park in Goodyear.
  6. Start feeling in the mood for the winter by enjoying some ice skating at one of AZ Ice’s locations!
  7. Enjoy Christmas in the Park in Litchfield Park.
  8. Take in some Christmas lights at Zoomtown Lights at the ISR Raceway.
  9. Enjoy the Nutcracker at Symphony Hall.
  10. Ring in the New Year at Phoenix Zoo’s “Noon Year’s Eve” blast.
